Alright, there are times when we stuck at home (or on a long plane ride) and we just can’t do anything else but watch a good movie. If you wonder what to watch next, we have great recommendations to ease your wanderlust!

Two For The Road (1967)

Oh, a real Hollywood classic with the wonderful Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney. You can join them on a retro road trip to Saint-Tropez and in the flashbacks of the romantic comedy you can see their adventures throughout the whole wide world. This movie is the best for those who love old movies, especially romantic ones.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Also a classic but this one’s for the real adventurers! Steven Spielberg and George Lucas joined forces to once again make a movie about the great Indiana Jones. This time he circles the globe to find the Ark of the Covenant. Filming locations included France and Tunisia.

Thelma and Louise (1991)

Have you ever wondered how it would be to throw all your cares away and just go on a ride with your best friend? Well, hop in the car with these bad-ass women, called Thelma and Louise, cause the great American adventure is waiting for you with them. Just don’t expect a happy ending for this movie.

Before Sunrise (1995)

This one’s for the philosophers out there who love to walk around the city, wondering about the big questions of the world. Julie Delphy and Ethan hawke find themselves in the beautiful Vienna for one night and they wander the cobblestone streets and wonderful attractions all night long, just like every traveler would. If you like this movie be sure to check out Before Sunset, set in Paris and Before Midnight set in Greece.

The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

This may not be the only reason to love Lord of the Rings but for one time don’t just watch the movie but really see the amazing scenery of Middle-earth. That’s the real life New Zealand. Those amazing mountains and hills are real. No wonder the turists love to fly to this far far away land.

Amelié (2001)

A surreal but amazingly photographed movie for the lovers of quirky heroines and of course, Paris. The city plays a big part for Amelié. She wanders around with ever so interesting thoughts and you can see the dream-like life of people in Montmartre. A little magic included.

L’Auberge Espagnole (2002)

This spanish inn is for everyone who ever studied abroad. Students from all around the world find themselves in Barcelona with other contemporaries from different countries. It’s difficult and wonderful and crazy all at the same time. Prepare yourself, it’s a multi-language movie, French, English and Italian included.

Into The Wild (2007)

The real life story of Christopher McCandless, who disappeared and demised into the Alaskan wild. The photographer is no else than Sean Penn and he does a great job, he really shows us the snowy sumits, the legendary forests and everything we dream about when we think about the wilderness of America.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

Not quite a travel movie but if you think about it, most travelers spend a whole lot of time in hotels and is there a better place to stay at than wonderful, colorful and fantastic Grand Budapest Hotel? We don’t think so…

Wild (2014)

Reese Witherspoon traded her pink high-heels for a pair of hiking boots and a backpack and she started a 1,100 miles long trip. Of course, it’s only on the wide screen where she plays the writer, Cheryl Strayed who walked along the road to gain mental clarity and self-acceptance after the loss of her mother.
