AUSTIN (KXAN) — Whether you turn to “It’s A Wonderful Life” or a more modern holiday classic like “Elf,” this time of year brings with it the tradition of watching movies and plenty of opinions about which are the best. The KXAN team shared which films they can’t stop watching this time of year.

“Christmas Vacation.” It’s a family favorite and we quote it no matter the season. Just. So. Funny.

I am on a serious Hallmark movie kick right now. I know, I know…. I can’t help it! But one of my fav films from my childhood is “A Muppet Christmas Carol.” Michael Caine as Scrooge, Kermit as Bob Crachit… Ugh! It steals my heart!

“Twister.” Because it’s good any time of year.

This might sound weird, but “Catch Me If You Can,” and “Just Friends!” I know, they’re not “Christmas movies”…but they are focused around the Christmas season, and that’s enough for me, haha.

It’s got to be National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Especially the Cousin Eddie parts.

“It’s a Wonderful Life.” It’s a classic and, bonus, irritates my kids to watch a black and white movie

“National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.” Because I love Todd, Margo and Cousin Eddie to pieces.

“Home Alone.” Been a favorite since my childhood when I would watch it over and over and over.

“Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”

Technically, it’s a Thanksgiving movie, but I love it because:

A: It’s hilarious. John Candy and Steve Martin have never been better.

B: The movie is about two guys trying to get home to their families for Thanksgiving. My dad traveled a lot for work when I was a kid. So, my family went through a similar ordeal almost every year, hoping dad could make it home.
