If you didn’t HATE Quentin Tarantino before, how about now? [video]

We’re no fans of cop-hater Quentin Tarantino, that’s for sure.

But now we have a whole new reason to hate the liberal director. It turns out the guitar Kurt Russell smashed in Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” was actually an “authentic six-string Martin guitar” built in 1870 that was loaned to the production from the Martin Guitar Museum:

According to reports, Russell was supposed to smash a replica of the guitar but destroyed the real one instead. Here’s a clip where Jennifer Jason Leigh breaks character when she realizes what Russell has done:

And get this! Tarantino left the clip in the movie because, according to sound mixerMark Ulano, he wasn’t freaked out about the destruction and liked her reaction. At 16:08 in the video below, Ulano says:

“Everyone’s freaked out in that room, except Quentin. There’s a little a curl of a smile on the corner of his [inaudible], because something happened that no one could predict and that was in Jennifer’s performance.”

Video here;

Ulano went on in the interview to make light of the incident, saying the museum asked if they needed another one, but that version isn’t entirely true. Once the head of the museum found out it was Tarantino’s screw up, he was furious:

We were informed that it was an accident on set. We assumed that a scaffolding or something fell on it. We understand that things happen, but at the same time we cant take this lightly. All this about the guitar being smashed being written into the script and that somebody just didnt tell the actor, this is all new information to us.

What complete jerks.
